What Data in Actie is for

Data in Actie is a free portal of 21 apps that all read one shared database of Dutch open data: the weather of the KNMI, water levels from Rijkswaterstaat, air quality from the RIVM, the vehicle register of the RDW and the figures per municipality from Statistics Netherlands (CBS). Open a map of yesterday's rain, guess the municipality of the day, put two towns side by side on thirteen figures or see what is happening in the Netherlands right now.

The portal and its apps are in Dutch. There is no account and there are no ads. Every page says where a number comes from and when it was loaded, and names the licence of the source. You can rate and review an app, ask for a new one and vote on what others ask for.

VibeSoft Studio is not affiliated with Statistics Netherlands, the KNMI, Rijkswaterstaat, the RIVM or the RDW.

Use cases

  • See what is happening today: Nederland nu puts the weather, water levels, air quality, vehicles and municipalities of the day on one page.
  • A daily game over coffee: Hoger/Lager, Raad de gemeente, Weerduel and Automerken-duel ask everyone the same questions each day.
  • Look at your own municipality: Compare your town with another on thirteen figures, find the municipalities most like it or see where it ranks.
  • Quote with a source: Every number names its source and licence, so you can check it before you repeat it.

What it does

  • - 21 apps in seven themes: Today, Weather, Water, Air and environment, Mobility, Municipalities and Energy
  • - Maps of the Netherlands per municipality or weather statio: rain, sun, wind, air quality, solar panels, house prices and more
  • - Four daily games with the same questions for everyone: Hoger/Lager, Raad de gemeente, Weerduel and Automerken-duel
  • Live overviews of weather, water levels, air quality and vehicles, loaded from the sources through the day
  • Put two municipalities side by side on thirteen figures, find the ones most like yours, see who tops the rankings
  • Every page names its sources, their licences and when the figures were loaded
  • Rate and review every app, ask for a new app or feature and vote on the requests of others
  • - Save your favourite apps and share them: no account, what you save stays on your device
